About the Company
Highway Carriages aim to provide a service of the highest quality that make our clients feel valued.
We are your alternative to a London based chauffeur company with high overheads or a local company that under achieves.
We have gained our reputation by personal recommendations through our existing accounts retained for many years.
Client confidentiality prevents us from listing the many television, film production and Corporate accounts that we hold but we would be happy to provide references if requested.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you require a deposit?
Wedding cars require a 25% charge to secure booking
Why are Weddings cars more expensive?
Because once the booking has been accepted no other booking is taken for that day to ensure that vehicle you have booked is available for you. It takes at least 3 hrs to prepare and dress vehicle with time required after hire to valet and make vehicle ready for next booking.
What type of Insurance do you have?
All of our vehicles have full hire and reward insurance and are licensed by the local authorities.
What is your smoking policy?
In Common with most chauffeur companies we do not allow smoking in any vehicles.
What car entertainment do your vehicles have?
It depends on vehicle but a minimum all vehicles have radio/cd for the use of passengers in addition some have TV/DVD players and surround sound systems. Clients are welcome to supply their own cd/dvd at their own risk.
How long in advance should we book?
The general rule is as early as possible for annual events such as Ascot, Wimbledon, and Henley etc. For Weddings on Friday's/ Saturdays these dates get booked up six months ahead at least so to avoid disappointment for your choice of vehicles as advance notice as possible, but we will always try to accommodate your request.
When does charging start?
Unless advised otherwise, the hire starts from our office and stops when the vehicle returns to base the price quoted will always include this assumption.
Do your vehicles have signage on them?
Some vehicles do have local authority badges on them, but most of our vehicles are exempt from having them on the outside of the vehicle.
Testimonials
-
Pedro Díaz Rodríguez-Valdés, Human Resources Director, Vodafone Spain“I've been working with Highway Carriages for 12 years, what impresses me is the level of professionalism and kindness from all members of the team; they make you feel at home and most importantly you are able to forget for a period of time about the stress, airports and planes, agenda and typical huzzle of the business executive. They are really discrete, flexible and always willing to help out on anything you might need.” -
Anon“Have always been flexible, helpful, courteous, and most of all professional in dealing with our constantly changing requirements.” -
